Music Teachers - David Steven
David StevenHead of Music and Teacher at Fiji School for the Blind & Arya Samaj Primary

Born and raised in Suva, David has been the head of music programs at Be Happy Music Club since 2018.

He learned the drums with his dad, Paul Steven, a legendary drummer from Fiji.

David studied music at the London Centre of Contemporary Musical for two years and also plays the guitar, percussion and sings.

Music Teachers - Sonny Seru
Sonny SeruTeacher at Fiji School for the Blind and Arya Samaj Primary

Sonny is originally from Savusavu, located on Fiji's northern island of Vanua Levu. He self-taught bass when he was 10 years old. Later on he also learned how to play the guitar and keyboard.

Sonny holds a Certificate III ABRSM (Associated Board of Royal School music - NZ) and has been facilitating music sessions for Be Happy Music Club since 2018.

Music Teachers - Sonii Vakalolo
Sonii VakaloloTeacher at Sigatoka Special School

Sonii is originally from Taveuni the third-largest island in Fiji, located in the Northern Division.

He learned how to play the keyboard at the music church seminars and later on started also playing drums and bass.

Sonii has been facilitating music sessions for Be Happy Music Club since 2018.

Music Teachers - Isaac Cabori
Isaac CaboriTeacher at Sigatoka Special School

Isaac is originally from the province of Tailevu, one of eight provinces based in Viti Levu, Fiji's main island.

Self-taught from a young age, Isaac plays keyboard, drums and bass and has been facilitating music sessions for Be Happy Music Club since 2019.

Music Teachers - Josefa Ravocia

Jo is a local musician from Savusavu and is a self-taught guitar player. He used to watch the elders playing music in the village and decided to pick up the guitar himself.

Jo also works as a school driver and has been facilitating music sessions for Be Happy Music Club since 2017.

Music Teachers - Jona Maivusa
Jona MaivusaTeacher at Ra Special

Originally from Labasa, Island of Vanua Levu, Jona grew up singing in choirs at the church in his village, where he developed his passion and talent for music. He plays the guitar and ukulele and is now also learning the keyboard.

Jona has recently joined the family and has been facilitating music sessions for Be Happy Music Club since February 2020.
